Multiple studies have shown that people using AI exhibit lower neural activity, reduced memory recall, less critical thinking. Is it happening to all of us now? Are we getting dumber because of AI?
Some call it the GPS effect, as there are similar studies about navigator apps like Waze or Google Maps. When we rely on navigators too much, our own navigation skills atrophy. To avoid that, neuroscientists recommend try to build the route yourself.
Study the route before you drive. Use paper maps, remember those? But what about AI?
In a similar manner, think how you would solve the problem yourself before asking AI. Make the first draft yourself. A blog post draft, or an email draft, or a Slack message draft.
In your authentic way. Read books, protect your focus, increase your attention span. Drive safely.
