A lot of restaurants still take bookings in a paper notepad. And AI can't read a notepad.
Before you add an AI agent, the work has to live in one digital place that both your host on the phone and an AI booking bot can use. So step one isn't "buy an AI tool". It's replacing the notepad with a simple tablet web app and training your staff to use it.
Here's the one I built on n8n (a demo rebuild, "Pavel Bistro"): • Tonight's bookings by time slot, with free seats updated automatically • A new booking in a few taps: guests, time, name, save • Mark arrivals and no-shows, and see your repeat no-shows over time • Cancellations free the seats instantly • An AI agent books guests from a chat (Telegram in my demo), and the booking shows up on the tablet right away
No App Store app, no IT department. The tablet app and the AI agent run on the same stack.
